Bill Burr's SNL 'Commercial' For Sam Adams Pumpkin Ale Is Fucking Hilarious
Holy shit, "Saturday Night Live" actually made me crack up laughing. I didn't even know Spittin' Chiclets alum Bill Burr was hosting last night until I saw Twitter crying because a comedian hired to do comedy on a comedy show was doing comedy on a comedy show.
But this fake Sam Adams commercial that spoofs the real ones might be the funniest thing I've seen on the show in years (yes, I'm obviously biased...a person is "biased" not "bias"). It's perfect because it's exactly how your typical "real Bostonian" (folks used to slugging down 12 to 24+ domestics that aren't Sam) would react to drinking a Sam Adams Pumpkin Ale. The family dysfunction element adds another wrinkle that people can relate/laugh/cry to, whether from their own clan or some Whiskey Tango they're familiar with. This was the truest part:
I know a lot of people are sick of the Boston stereotype shit for the last decade or so (see: the actual commercial being goofed on). But funny is funny. And Bill Burr made that shit funny as fuck.
Pretty sure last night's effort makes Burr the GOAT when it comes to faux Sam Adams ads...
